The Algarve project BeeExperience, created by Alexandre Pereira, won the “Tourism & Beekeeping” category in the final of the Innovative Projects and Activities Competition – Inova Algarve + Diversify, promoted by NERA.
The distinction was granted during the project’s first conference dedicated to the Beekeeping Row, an initiative that brought together businesspeople, entrepreneurs, scientific entities and regional agents linked to economic development and the valorization of the Algarve’s endogenous resources.
BeeExperience presents itself as a project linked to sustainable tourism, environmental awareness and the appreciation of the territory through the world of bees.
According to the organization, the initiative states itself “as a project to raise environmental awareness, education and appreciation of the territory, using the universe of bees to create immersive, emotional and differentiating experiences linked to sustainable tourism and biodiversity”.
Project highlights sustainable tourism and biodiversity
The project’s founder, Alexandre Pereira, highlighted the importance of cooperation in the development of initiatives linked to the Algarve territory.
“Nothing can be achieved alone. And if there is something that this journey has shown me, it is that large projects only grow through cooperation, partnerships, sharing and mutual help”, he stated.
The competition is part of the Inova Algarve 3.0 project and aims to encourage innovative activities associated with the different strategic sectors in the region.
Conferences will address other sectors in the Algarve
Over the next few months, the conference cycle will continue to address strategic areas such as wine, carob, almonds, arbutus, plants and flowers, sea economy, geological and citrus resources.
The program also includes business innovation showcases, networking moments and new finals of the Innovative Projects and Activities Competition – Inova Algarve + Diversificar.

The initiative is organized by NERA in partnership with Algarve Evolution, KIPT Association, CCDR Algarve, Algarve Tourism Region, Tertúlia Algarvia and University of Algarve, within the scope of the INOVA ALGARVE 3.0 Project, co-financed by the Algarve 2030 Regional Program | Portugal 2030.
