A doctoral, master’s and bachelor’s student at the USP Law School, Costa was a parliamentary advisor in the Senate and is part of the legal group Prerogativas.
but he has not yet been reported or formally accused of embezzlement of social security benefits. The situation has generated complaints among lawyers.
He states that he does not intend to make a plea bargain, because he says he is a victim of injustice and claims that he has no one to hand over.
The defense will try to release him based on the lack of concrete evidence against the former head of the INSS. The lawyers also claim that they did not have full access to several elements of the investigation, such as telematic extraction reports, statements and reports from the General Comptroller of the Union (CGU).
Stefanutto is suspected of having connived at the fraudulent discounts. He denies the accusations.
