Governor of Minas Gerais, Mateus Simões (PSD) says he welcomes a possible
Both have been talking about a coalition, with the aim of creating a new competitive candidacy in the center-right field.
“I like the idea, but I don’t know the depth of what they’ve already talked about,” the governor told the Panel.
For Simões, a pre-candidate for re-election in an election that promises to be disputed, a possible merger would have special meaning, the former governor of Minas, his main electoral campaigner.
The current governor claims to see space for an alternative candidacy to that of the leaders in the polls, Lula (PT) and Flávio Bolsonaro (PL).
“I think there will be an opening for a third name anyway. It’s a matter of designing the way for this to happen with the right names”, he says.
