The defendants’ turn begins in the Kitchen case trial. This Thursday the former Secretary of State for Security Francisco Martínez will testify first and then Jorge Fernández Díaz, Minister of the Interior of the first Government of Mariano Rajoy and accused of an alleged parapolice operation against the former treasurer of the PP Luis Bárcenas. The National Court thus faces the final stretch of this oral hearing, in which an alleged parapolice operation is prosecuted to spy on the former treasurer of the PP between 2013 and 2015 and steal documentation that could be incriminating for the PP, when the Gürtel and box B cases were being investigated. Each statement is expected to last several hours.
