Flávio says that Rubio responded “quickly” to the request about PCC and CV

After repercussions, the senator stated that on a trip to the USA he “did more for Brazil” than the PT “in years in office”

The senator (PL-RJ) stated, this Thursday (May 28, 2026), that the United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, responded to a request from him and the North American President, Donald Trump, to classify Brazilian criminal factions as “narco-terrorists”.

The statement was made after the United States announced that it intends to designate the PCC (First Command of the Capital) and the CV (Red Command) as foreign terrorist organizations. The measure should come into force on June 5, 2026, according to the US government.

In the video, Flávio appears wearing a Brazilian team shirt and states that, on a trip to the United States, “did more for Brazil” than PT “in years of office”. The senator also once again criticized the government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and said that Brazil has lost sovereignty in areas dominated by organized crime.

“At the request of President Donald Trump, Marco Rubio quickly responded to my request”said Flávio in the video.

The senator had already stated, on Tuesday (May 26, 2026), that he asked Trump, during a meeting at the White House, that the North American government classify the PCC and the CV as “terrorist” organizations.

UNITED STATES DECISION

Marco Rubio stated that the United States intends to classify the PCC and the CV as organizationsterrorists foreigners. According to the North American government, the factions are violent, involved in drug trafficking and present outside Brazil.

The designation as an organization terrorist foreign policy allows the United States to apply harsher legal and financial instruments against groups and against people or entities that provide material support to them.

The announcement was made after Flávio’s trip to the United States. The senator met with Trump at Tuesday (May 26th) and, the next day, he met Rubio in Washington.

GOVERNMENT REACTION

The Lula government has resisted the classification of Brazilian factions as “terrorist” organizations by another country. Members of the PT administration assess that the measure could open space for external pressure on issues of public security and national sovereignty.

The North American decision also reignited the political dispute between the government and the opposition over public security. The classification of factions as “terrorists” is a flag defended by sectors of the right and by allies of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
