Measles in Texas: Study found that almost 20 percent of those infected required hospital treatment

Washington/Vienna – Measles is not a “harmless childhood disease”. This is shown by a study on the outbreak of the viral infection in the US state of Texas last year, which caused a worldwide sensation. Almost 20 percent of those sick had to be admitted to hospital. Seven percent of them even ended up in the intensive care unit. There are also very similar figures from Austria.
