Vienna – The Wiener Festwochen is canceling the appearance of the controversial tech billionaire Peter Thiel on June 7th as part of the festival. Festival director Milo Rau and managing director Artemis Vakianis made this decision on Saturday evening. Thiel was supposed to have a discussion with Rau and the theologian Wolfgang Palaver at the end of next week at the Hotel Intercontinental under the title “Armageddon and Antichrist? From theology to realpolitik.”
