Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy repeated his warning on Saturday evening against a new wave of large-scale Russian airstrikes. This was reported by the DPA agency, writes TASR.
“The intelligence report of a possible large-scale attack remains valid,” Zelenskyy said in a video link a day after his initial warning. He called on Ukrainians not to ignore the air raid sirens. Zelenskyi also noted that Ukraine’s air defense is on alert, but admitted problems with the delivery of Western aid for the country’s defense against ballistic and guided missiles.
The Ukrainian leader warned against a new wave of Russian attacks on Friday as well, three times in total. He referred to information from Ukrainian secret services and military intelligence. The Russian army launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine on Friday evening, in which it again deployed missiles and drones. An air alert was declared in Kyiv and in several areas in the west of Ukraine, the Russian editorial office of the BBC reported.
Russia announced on Monday that intends to launch “systematic attacks” on targets in Kyiva called on foreigners and diplomats in the Ukrainian capital to leave. Russia presented these announced attacks as retaliation for last week’s attack, the target of which was a hostel in the Russian-occupied Luhansk region in eastern Ukraine. 21 people died in it. Ukraine denied the attack.
