Bogota – Colombia’s presidential election is heading to a runoff between right-wing lawyer Abelardo de la Espriella and left-wing senator Iván Cepeda. After almost 99.5 percent of the votes were counted, De la Espriella got 43.7 percent and Cepeda got almost 41 percent, the electoral authority said. Since none of the candidates achieved an absolute majority in the first round, the decision on the presidential office will only be made in the runoff election on June 21st.
