Singers Bruno & Marrone reflected on maintaining a decades-long career in country music. The duo is there 38 years on the roadsinging from bars to the biggest stages in Brazil.
In an interview with CNN Brazilthe first voice commented that: “there’s no secret… it’s a lot of work and. We always try to sing what we believe in, without losing our identity. And of course, with God blessing, we remain firm.”
Their career took more than ten years until the success of “Dormi na Praça” exploded in 2001.
During the period leading up to their success, Bruno and Marrone sang in bars across Brazil and did not think about giving up at any point, they said.
Their careers are so remarkable that their duo is one of those whose hits have been covered by country artists who came in generations after them.
When asked about the reinterpretations, they stated: “We feel privileged to be a reference for the new generation. The fact that they re-recorded shows that our repertoire spans several generations. It doesn’t take away the shine of those who made music popular back there; on the contrary, it helps to keep these hits alive and present in the lives of more people.”
