The senator (-RJ), pre-candidate for the Presidency, rejected this Monday (1st) the connection between the São Paulo Civil Police operation at the headquarters of the production company Go UP Entertainment and the film “”, about Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
Flávio gave a quick statement to journalists upon arriving at an event in Rio.”[Não] has nothing to do with the film”, he said when asked about the police action.
However, as shown by Sheetthe delegate in charge of the investigation cited the diversion of public resources from the City of São Paulo for the production of the film in the request he made to have access to the company’s financial data.
The Civil Police carried out an operation this Monday (1st) at the headquarters of Go UP Entertainment —producer of the film “”, about (PL)—, at an address belonging to the production company’s owner, Karina Ferreira da Gama, at the headquarters of the Municipal Secretariat of Innovation and Technology and also at an entity chaired by Karina, the ICB (Instituto conhecimento Brasil).
The operation, authorized by the TJ-SP Guarantee Court (Court of Justice of São Paulo), is the result of a police investigation into a contract between the ICB and management () at São Paulo City Hall for the provision of free Wi-Fi.
The investigation deals with the crimes of frustrating the competitive nature of the bidding procedure, fraud in the execution of an administrative contract and irregular use of public funds or income, all provided for in the Penal Code.
The Civil Police opened the investigation following a request from the Public Ministry, originally to investigate signs of irregularities in the ICB’s Wi-Fi contract, worth R$108 million.
The police’s line of investigation so far is that Karina’s institute was irregularly hired by the City Hall, for a price above the market price, and that payments were made without the services being provided. The set of actions would have served to divert resources from the municipality and, according to the police, there is a suspicion that part of the money went to the production of the film about Bolsonaro.
“There are consistent suspicions of patrimonial confusion [entre o instituto e a produtora] and that public resources from the ‘WiFi Livre SP’ program have been diverted to pay for the production activities of the aforementioned film, using the accounts of subcontracted companies and other social organizations managed by the investigated company to launder the amounts diverted from the São Paulo treasury”, states the letter signed by the delegate, which is under analysis by the Regional Court of Guarantees of the TJ-SP (Court of Justice of São Paulo).
Flávio participates this Monday morning in an event of the Prisma-RJ project, in the capital of Rio de Janeiro, organized by researchers from Coppe/UFRJ.
The initiative brings together technical studies for the implementation of metro line 3, which provides for the connection of Niterói, São Gonçalo and Itaboraí with the city of Rio. The project had a parliamentary amendment approved by Flávio, according to the event organizers.
