The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated, this Monday, 1st, that he spoke with the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, and that there will be no troops on the way to Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. In a post on Truth Social, he detailed that any troops that were on their way have already been prevented from entering.
At the same time, Trump highlighted that he spoke with Hezbollah, and that the Lebanese Shiite group agreed that all firing will cease. “Israel will not attack them and they will not attack Israel,” he wrote.
The American president’s signal comes after a series of attacks exchanged between Israel and Hezbollah, which led Iran to “cut communication” with Washington to reach an understanding to end the war in the Middle East.
In another publication, however, Trump announced that negotiations with Iran “continue at an accelerated pace”.
