Lula says he is waiting for a call from Trump about tariffs

Measures must come into force by July 15th, after a hearing scheduled for July 6th

The President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), stated this Tuesday (2) that waiting for a call from the President of the United States, Donald Trumpso that he can explain the proposal from the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) to apply a general tariff of 25% on Brazilian products, on the grounds that the country adopts practices that burden or restrict North American trade.

A dstatement was given during the inauguration ceremony of the University Hospital of the Federal University of Catalão (HU-UFCAT)in Goiás. Ministers Alexandre Padilha (Health), Guilherme Boulos (General Secretariat of the Republic) and Leonardo Barchini (Education) participated in the event.
