Untertilliach/St. Lorenzen in the Lesachtal/Vienna – Six griffon vultures have died in the Lesachtal in Carinthia and East Tyrol in the past few weeks. According to toxicological tests, they died from the pesticide carbofuran, which was probably used as poison bait, as Birdlife Austria announced on Wednesday. Birdlife, WWF Austria and the Vulture Conservation Foundation appealed to the population to report information about the crime to the police.
