More than half of Brazilians have a negative image of Trump, points out Atlas

More than half of Brazilians have a negative image of US President Donald Trump, according to the Atlas/Intel survey released this Wednesday (3).

According to research, 54.8% of respondents say they have a negative view of the American leaderwhile 41.7% say they have a positive image. Others 3.5% responded that they do not know how to evaluate.

The numbers represent a slight improvement in Trump’s perception compared to the last survey carried out by the company, in July 2025.

At the time, 63.2% of Brazilians declared that they had a negative image of the American president, while 31.9% had a positive evaluation. Another 4.8% were unable to answer.

Atlas data shows that Trump’s evaluation among Brazilians has undergone fluctuations since the beginning of 2025.

In January of that year, 52% of those interviewed said they had a negative image of the newly inaugurated president of the United States. The positive evaluation was 44%, while 4% were unable to respond.

In April, the negative perception increased to 57.6%, while the positive perception fell to 38.2%. Another 4.2% said they did not know how to evaluate it.

Despite the improvement in relation to the peak of rejection recorded in July 2025, the negative image of Trump remains in the majority among Brazilians.

The survey interviewed 1,273 Brazilian adults digitally between May 30 and June 3, 2026. The margin of error is three percentage points, plus or minus, and the confidence level is 95%.
