The team returns to the court on Saturday (6), at 11 am, again in Brasília, to face Bulgaria
The Brazilian women’s volleyball team maintained 100% success in the Nations League by beating the Dominican Republic by 3 sets to 1, this Thursday (4), in Brasília. After an unstable start and a lost first set, the team led by José Roberto Guimarães reorganized itself on the court, grew in production and built the comeback, closing the match with scores of 23/25, 25/18, 25/11 and 25/15.
The first set showed a still irregular Brazil. With difficulties in reception and alternating good and bad moments on serve, the team saw the Dominican Republic take advantage of errors to control the partial. Even with attempts to react in the final stretch, the Brazilians were unable to avoid a 25-23 defeat.
From the second set onwards, the scenario changed. Brazil started to put more pressure on their serve, improved their blocking and adjusted their defensive system, breaking their opponents’ offensive rhythm. With more consistency in turning the ball around, the team took control of the partial, opened up a lead in the middle of the set and tied the game more securely at 25-18.
The third set was the turning point in the Brazilian performance. With intensity from the beginning, the team completely dominated the actions, forced constant mistakes from the Dominican Republic and built a large advantage halfway through the partial. Without giving any opportunity to react, Brazil finished 25-11 in their best performance of the game.
In the fourth set, the Dominican Republic tried to react and started better, but Brazilian superiority quickly appeared again. With game volume, defensive organization and greater efficiency in counterattacks, Brazil regained control and managed the advantage until closing at 25 to 15.
The victory keeps Brazil with 100% success in the Nations League and reinforces the good start to the campaign by José Roberto Guimarães’ team, which defeated the Netherlands in its debut. The team returns to the court this Saturday, at 11am, again in Brasília, to face Bulgaria.
