An action proposed by the Public Electoral Ministry that asks the (Partido da Causa Operária) has been stopped for almost a year in the (Superior Electoral Court) without any procedural movement.
The MP filed the lawsuit in May 2024, arguing that the small radical left party was not accountable to the . The body especially considered the years 2006, 2016, 2018 and 2019 and spoke of “repeated and persistent conduct of non-compliance with legal obligations”.
The then reporting minister, André Ramos Tavares, ordered the carrying out of investigations, together with receipts and certificates in the process. The party presented the challenge and claimed that the sanction was disproportionate.
But last year the case was redistributed to the court and is under rapporteurship. The last movement is exactly that of redistribution, on August 1, 2025.
Since then, there has been no change in the process that has been stopped for almost a year. There is no order, decision on the merits, opening of a procedural deadline or even inclusion on the trial agenda.
When contacted via TSE advisory, the minister did not comment. The Panel was also unable to contact representatives of the PCO.
