Mystery in the USA: police investigate videos of groups entering and leaving the sewage system in New York

The New York police are investigating a series of unusual episodes in which several groups of people were filmed entering and exiting the sewer system in different neighborhoods of the city.

The cases began at the beginning of May and were repeated at least three times, always during the early hours of the morning. The images show individuals equipped with boots, flashlights and waterproof clothing lifting manholes and descending into the underground network, returning hours later.

According to reports, one of the most striking episodes occurred in Queens, where three men were seen entering the sewer at night, behavior that surprised witnesses. Days later, a larger group was filmed in Brooklyn, reappearing hours later and changing clothes next to parked cars.

Authorities found no signs of criminal activity or immediate danger, but are continuing to investigate the case. One of the hypotheses on the table is that the groups are looking for valuable objects in the city’s underground.

Despite speculation, the police emphasize that entering the sewage system is illegal and extremely dangerous, due to risks such as toxic gases, electricity and flash floods.
