Bolsonaro has had an ‘above average’ hiccups crisis for seven days, says medical bulletin

Former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) has had an “above average” recurrence of hiccups in the last seven days, according to a weekly medical report presented to the Federal Supreme Court (STF) this Friday. According to the document, Bolsonaro has a stable vascular condition.

The text says that due to the condition, the medical team decided to maintain “high doses of specific medications and a strict low-acid diet”. “The patient is stable from a cardiological point of view, complaining only of mild tiredness and fatigue, with medium efforts, and discomfort when flexing and abducting the right shoulder”, says an excerpt from the report.

Sentenced to 27 years and three months in prison for attempting a coup d’état after the 2022 elections, the former president has been serving his sentence at home since March, when he was released from hospital after being treated for bronchopneumonia. The Court authorized the transfer of the Papuda complex to the home for 90 days, and it was granted by Minister Alexandre de Moraes.

At the beginning of May, former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro declared that her husband had had no hiccups for days and was showing progress in his health. The statement was made on social media and, at the time, contrasted with the recent report from his son Carlos, who had described a more delicate situation.
