Theater actor José Patrik Machado, aged 32, was found dead in the early hours of this Friday, 5th, in a motel of Campo Grande, capital of Mato Grosso do Sul. According to the police, he had entered the place in the company of two menbut they left the motel some time later.
The body was found by employees of the establishment. It is suspected that the victim died of overdose. The police investigate the case.
According to police records, the Military Police were called at around 12:29 am, after reporting that there was a possibly dead person at the scene. José Patrik was found lying in room 206 of the establishment, which is in Jardim Paulista.
The Mobile Emergency Service (Samu) went to the motel. The team doctor confirmed the death and reported that the victim already had cadaveric stiffness.
The receptionist at the establishment said that Patrik Machado entered accompanied by two men, who have not yet been identified by the police. After a while, the two left the place, and he remained alone in the room. According to the report, the receptionist even spoke to the victim over the intercom to find out if she would continue using the room and received a positive response.
Hours later, After getting no response over the intercom, the staff decided to check the room and found the actor without vital signs. The Civil Police sent a technical team to examine the location.
After the procedures carried out in the room, the victim’s belongings were collected, as well as substances found next to the bed, which will still be analyzed. José Patrik’s cell phone was seized for analysis.
The body was sent for examination at the Legal Medical Institute (IML). The case was registered as a death resulting from an atypical event at the Community Emergency Care Police Station (Depac).

Patrik was a theater actor and performed in several performances in Campo Grande. In a note of condolence, Companhia Teatral Adote highlighted the actor’s artistic contribution and the mark he left among colleagues and friends.
“For those who had the privilege of being on stage with him, and beyond the stage, they will remember his talent, the lightness of his humor and the generosity with which he inhabited the stage and life”, wrote the company. The publication also defined the loss as a mourning for the artistic community.
The actor’s body was laid to rest and buried this Saturday morning, the 6th, at the Parque de Campo Grande Cemetery.
