Immediately after these findings, however, he brought important findings in another matter, in the case of the so-called golden convoy. According to several sources of the portal, the decision on the March intervention against Ukrainian transports with cash and investment gold should have come directly from the highest places.
It was a case when, during the campaign, the Hungarian police detained a Ukrainian convoy with gold. However, today’s findings indicate that it was an unjustified detention on the direct order of Viktor Orbán.
Investigators claim that the date of the action was determined by the government and that Orbán himself was to promote the operation. After the elections, however, the authorities returned the seized property, canceled the deportation of Ukrainian workers, and doubts arose as to whether the entire intervention was justified at all.
Where have the zebras gone?
Former Fidesz member Hadházy claims that this is not the first case when he failed to find all the registered animals. According to his statement, this is already the third flight over the area with a similar result. That is also why he wants the authorities to deal with the case again.
The anti-corruption activist pointed out that he submitted a similar application before the elections. However, he claims that the police refused to investigate at the time. According to him, the new situation after the change of government could bring a different approach.
In the meantime, the case has also reached beyond the borders of Hungary. Zebras were even discussed on the grounds of the European Parliament, where a Ukrainian MP showed their photos. Animals gradually became a symbol of luxury and possessions, which the public associates with the surroundings of the former prime minister.
However, this case also has international interest. Minister of Foreign Affairs Radoslaw Sikorský is also interested in where the rest of the zebras ended up.
