President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Sunday (7) that Russia deliberately attacked a nuclear fuel storage facility near the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine. He called the attack “extremely vile.”
“Today, the Russians again attacked the special territory around the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. The attack hit one of the buildings of the Centralized Irradiated Fuel Storage Facility,” he wrote in X, referring to an ordinary Russian attack drone.
“A facility – and an extremely vile Russian attack,” he highlighted in the publication.
Kiev and the state atomic energy agency said radiation levels remained stable and there were no reports of injuries.
