Proposal authorizes the use of the Pre-Salt Social Fund to help rural producers affected by extreme weather events

Despite the support of the ruralist group, the proposal faces resistance from the government’s economic team due to the potential fiscal impact.
Estimates under discussion in Congress indicate that the volume of rural debts covered by the project could reach around R$180 billion.
The resources initially foreseen include up to R$30 billion from the Pre-Salt Social Fund, in addition to other public sources of financing.
