Deputy Guilherme Cortez states that 4 signatures are missing to investigate links between the bank and São Paulo city halls
The state deputy and pre-candidate for federal deputy (Psol-SP) stated that the opposition to the governor (Republicanos-SP) gathered 19 of the 23 signatures necessary to file a CPI (Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) at Alesp (Legislative Assembly of São Paulo). The objective is to investigate possible links between São Paulo and city halls. The statement was given this Monday (June 8, 2026) in an interview with the Estadão/Broadcast.
According to Cortez, the commission intends to investigate the relationship between the financial institution and municipal administrations in the State. The investigation may also reach the São Paulo government, depending on the outcome of the investigation.
One of the points cited by the opposition is the donation of R$2 million made to Tarcísio’s campaign in 2022 by Daniel Vorcaro’s brother-in-law. The Federal Police names Zettel as one of the operators in the case involving Banco Master.
The deputy acknowledged the difficulty in obtaining the remaining signatures, especially in an election year. Even so, he stated that the mobilization of society and public opinion can contribute to making the installation of the CPI viable.
During the interview, Cortez also said that the issue of privatizations should be at the center of the electoral debate in São Paulo. According to him, the privatization of Sabesp will be one of the issues explored by the (PT-SP) campaign for the state government.
Cortez also stated that part of the left was wrong to consider the interior of São Paulo a politically lost territory. In the congressman’s assessment, the state government has not paid enough attention to the region.
