‘We will not leave any attack unanswered’, says Iran after US bombing

Iran promised to respond to the United States attack, carried out this Tuesday (09) after the crash of a North American military helicopter. “Our powerful military will not leave any attack or threat unanswered. Leave our region if you want to be safe,” wrote Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister.

“Despite defeats on the battlefield, the US chose to test our resolve. The history of the Persian Gulf has many chapters about the terrible fates of external invaders,” Araghchi added.

The position comes after the release of a statement from the United States stating that they were carrying out attacks against Iran. “CENTCOM classifies the action as “self-defense attacks“, says the Central Command statement, adding that American forces “began launching attacks in self-defense against Iran today at 5 p.m. [18h00 em Brasília]by order of the Commander in Chief, in response to yesterday’s downing of a United States Army Apache helicopter,” stated an official publication on the X network.

This Tuesday morning, a United States Army AH-64 Apache helicopter crashed near the Strait of Hormuz. The two crew members who were on board the aircraft survived the accident and are doing well, President Donald Trump said. Iranian state media also confirmed the accident.

Apache helicopters have been a key asset to the American military. They have been active in enforcing the blockade on the transport of Iranian crude oil and tankers, in an attempt to pressure Tehran to reach a ceasefire agreement.
