One day after having the , the digital influencer Deolane Bezerra was denounced by the Public Ministry of São Paulo (MPSP), through prosecutor Lincoln Gakiya, for alleged links with the First Capital Command (PCC).
Deolane remains imprisoned in the Tupi Paulista Women’s Penitentiary, in the interior of São Paulo. The denial of the request for house arrest was decided by the Fifth Panel of the STJ, composed of ministers Ribeiro Dantas, Joel Ilan Paciornik, Messod Azulay Neto and Maria Thereza de Assis Moura.
The influencer has been detained since May 21st, when she was target of a police operation investigating his alleged involvement with the criminal organization. According to the complaint presented by the Public Ministry, Deolane would have acted as a kind of “cashier” for the factionmoving financial resources from illicit activities.
According to prosecutors and the Civil Police, manuscripts found in 2019 at the Presidente Venceslau Penitentiary, in addition to elements gathered in different phases of subsequent investigations, would point to connections between bank accounts, financial transactions and companies linked to the influencer.
The complaint alleges that a carrier based in Presidente Venceslau (SP) would have been used to operationalize the movement of resources. The document was forwarded to the Court, which will now analyze the receipt of the accusation and the continuation of the criminal action.
Deolane’s defense had requested that pre-trial detention be replaced by house arrest based on the fact that she was the mother of a 10-year-old girl. However, the request was rejected by the STJ.
For the Public Ministry, there are sufficient elements that would indicate the influencer’s participation in a money laundering scheme linked to the PCC. The prosecution also claims that there is evidence of a direct connection with Marco Willians Herbas Camacho, known as Marcola, identified by authorities as the main leader of the criminal faction.
In the complaint, prosecutors state that documents and financial records analyzed during the investigation would indicate that Deolane Bezerra received amounts from the criminal organization. The influencer denies the accusations through her defense.
The case now goes to the São Paulo court for analysis.
