Belfast – After serious racially motivated riots in Northern Ireland, the police in the greater capital Belfast area say they used water cannons against violent demonstrators. Police urged road users and passers-by in the Newtownabbey suburb on Wednesday to avoid the area as objects including bricks, bottles and stones were thrown at police. It was also said that trash cans were set on fire.
