The City Hall removed a manager from SPTuris, a municipal tourism company, who is being investigated by the CGM (General Comptroller of the Municipality) in the process that investigates the hiring of the Instituto Saber Brasil (ICB), an entity, owner of the film’s production company “”.
Before occupying the position at the municipal company, Rodrigo Raveli Bolzan was a partner at Complexys Soluções Integradas, one of the companies investigated by the Civil Police in the investigation that investigates the hypothesis that city hall resources received by the ICB and ended up in the film.
SPTuris maintained R$12 million in contracts with Complexys, according to a report on the portal, and Bolzan was the server designated to oversee part of these contracts. Nunes did not clarify whether the possible conflict of interest was the cause of the dismissal.
“He is removed from his duties. An investigation was opened by the Comptroller’s Office. It is being investigated, monitored by the Comptroller’s Office,” said the mayor.
“We do not want to leave, under any circumstances, any type of doubt about any situation,” said Nunes, promising that “the investigation process will be very quick and swift. If any illegality is identified, he will obviously be fired.”
The mayor addressed the topic on Tuesday (9) during a press conference after the inauguration of a health unit in the south of the city.
The headquarters of Complexys, in Vila Mariana, south of the city, was one of eight addresses where the Civil Police carried out search and seizure warrants during the operation that targeted the contracts of the “Dark Horse” producer, last week.
The police investigation investigates suspicions of bidding fraud and overpricing in a R$108 million contract between the Nunes administration and the ICB for the provision of free Wi-Fi in points on the outskirts of the city.
The Civil Police states that there is financial confusion between Karina’s accounts and that part of the funds paid by the city hall to the entity may have been transferred to the production company Go UP Entertainment, which produced the film about ().
Complexys was subcontracted by ICB to provide the Wi-Fi. The police are investigating the regularity of R$2.4 million in invoices from the company to the institute which, according to the investigation, were presented in the institute’s accounts to the city hall, but canceled on the same day of issuance.
The report unsuccessfully attempted to contact Bolzan by telephone to discuss the case. Complexys was contacted via WhatsApp, but did not respond.
The ICB stated, after last week’s police operation, that it collaborates with the investigations and that “the institute’s legal team hired expertise and specialized auditing to offer technical and legal support to the entire investigation process.”
