Ancelotti repeats Tite and should debut with 8 of the 2022 World Cup – 11/06/2026 – Sport

Coach of Brazil in the last World Cup, Tite always makes a point of pointing out Carlo Ancelotti as his main professional reference. Ahead of the Brazilian team at this year’s World Cup, however, it seems to be the Italian who is taking inspiration from his disciple.

If the lineup outlined in the team’s last training sessions is confirmed, Ancelotti will send to the field this Saturday (13), against Morocco, eight players who were part of Brazil’s debut at the 2022 World Cup, in Qatar.

The maintained base is formed by Alisson, Danilo, Marquinhos, Alex Sandro, Casemiro, Lucas Paquetá, Raphinha and Vinicius Junior.

The new players should be Gabriel Magalhães, Bruno Guimarães and Matheus Cunha. The trio would enter, respectively, the places occupied by Thiago Silva, Neymar and Richarlison.

It is not common for the Brazilian team to keep so many remnants from one World Cup to another. To date, the largest number of veterans in the debut of a World Cup was recorded in 2006, when five players who started the fifth championship campaign in 2002 also started the following edition. The base was formed by Cafu, Lúcio, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldinho Gaúcho and Ronaldo.

Tite himself, who led the team in the last two World Cups, made significant changes between one debut and another. Only four athletes who started the 2018 campaign were also among the starters in the 2022 debut: Alisson, Danilo, Thiago Silva and Neymar.

The goalkeeper, therefore, should start for the third consecutive World Cup wearing the Brazilian team’s shirt.
