US escalation into war could explode energy infrastructure and markets

Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned that a military escalation by the United States could hit energy infrastructure and global markets.

In a publication on According to Ghalibaf, the US could be stuck in the conflict for years and, in this scenario, “they will see a different Iran”.

The warning was reinforced by Ebrahim Azizi, chairman of the National Security Committee of the Iranian Parliament. During a ceremony in honor of former head of the Armed Forces Mohammad Bagheri, Azizi stated that Iran will give a firm response to any action or threat against the country.

He added that the Armed Forces are at the highest level of readiness and that any actions against the Islamic Republic will receive a reaction capable of marking history.

Earlier, a CNN report reported that US President Donald Trump was angry because he felt that Tehran and the press did not see the recent American attacks as powerful enough.

According to the broadcaster, citing sources familiar with the matter, the president ordered a second round of strikes this week in an attempt to pressure Iranian leaders into accepting a deal to end hostilities.

CNN also reported that plans to capture or neutralize Kharg Island, Iran’s main oil export hub, have been studied for months but have been repeatedly shelved as too risky. The idea was mentioned earlier by Trump in a publication in Truth Social and in an interview with Fox News.

According to authorities interviewed by the vehicle, the White House and the Pentagon treat a possible operation against Kharg as an extreme alternative, given the risk of high American casualties and an even greater escalation of the conflict.
