Federal commission says servers were exposed to radiation in São Paulo

The National Nuclear Energy Commission (CNEN) confirmed the occurrence of a incident involving radioactive material at the Institute for Energy and Nuclear Research (Ipen)located in the west zone of São Paulo.

According to the Internal Occurrence Report released by the agency, traces of Technetium-99 were identified during the removal of biological sensors from an autoclave used in the production of radiopharmaceuticals.

Two workers classified as “occupationally exposed individuals” underwent preventive examinations. The results indicated low levels of detection, with no evidence of internal contamination.
