Carlos da Costa’s economic coordinator is touring business entities to present the pre-candidate’s proposals for the Presidency.
In recent days, he was at the CNI (National Confederation of Industry), the France-Brazil Chamber of Commerce and the São Paulo Commercial Association.
he has debated debt in the productive sector, especially for small and medium-sized companies.
Costa defends an emergency version of Pronampe, the National Support Program for Micro and Small Businesses. “We have to rescue viable companies, but which are virtually bankrupt just because of debt,” he says.
Another topic is the future of Petrobras, which Zema promises to privatize. Costa says the idea is to divide the state-owned company into smaller companies, making buyers commit to expanding refining.
The economist has also gathered suggestions to improve tax reform. “There are many changes capable of significantly improving the reform, making it truly simplify the tax system and not put pressure on companies’ cash flow.”
He predicts that if a fiscal shock worth 2% of GDP is carried out, and Banco do Brasil, interest rates will quickly fall to 6%.
