Only 25-year-old groom-to-be Dan Bevis from Alcester, England, flew to the resort of Puerto Del Carmen in Lanzarote on May 1 for his bachelor party. An accident happened after only two hours, when he became the victim of a bizarre accident, writes the newspaper. The groom ended up in a coma after a terrifying fall from a height of 6 meters.
After arriving at the resort, the man headed to the first bar, where his friend was sitting on the wall. You had a father of one child sit on a wall with a very rusted fence and fall backwards, falling 6 meters to the pavement. Dan suffered such a severe brain injury that his friend had to literally hold his head together to stop the bleeding until an ambulance took him to the hospital. There he was put into a coma due to a brain bleed, a fracture behind his ear, a broken collarbone and a broken sternum.
Dan’s fiancee Kirsty Elvins, 27, flew out with their one-year-old son Grayson Bevis-Elvins to be with him until May 19, when he was scheduled to return home. His travel insurance covered medical expenses. Dan is currently unable to work and recovering at home, while his family has set up a GoFundMe account to help pay bills before their wedding in July.
“I literally screamed when I found out. They had a rather late flight, they checked into a hotel, left their things in Lanzarote and were only in the first bar for a couple of hours because they landed late. One of his friends who was at the farewell party was sitting on the wall, so he went to see him. Smoking is not allowed directly in front of the bar, so he crossed the road to the wall, wanted to sit down, but the railing was very rusty and unstable. As he sat down, he fell backwards and fell almost 6 meters from the wall.” she described the fiance’s incident.

Since Dan had a European Health Insurance Card, it covered his medical expenses. “A lot of people thought that he must have been very drunk when he was on his farewell. If the insurance company thought that, they wouldn’t have helped us with the insurance claim. He only had a few beers, it happened at the first bar they went to. It was very serious,” Kirsty explained. A few weeks before their dream wedding, she hopes Dan will recover enough to walk her down the aisle.
