The Israeli army hit dozens of Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon. She called for the evacuation of several cities despite the ongoing ceasefire.
Israel’s armed forces said on Saturday that they had struck more than 70 targets of the Hezbollah militant movement in southern Lebanon over the past day. TASR informs about it according to the news portal The Times of Israel.
The targets, according to the military, included rocket-launching facilities and buildings used by the “terrorist group” to prepare attacks.
The Israeli army intervenes
The Jewish state’s army also claims to have killed several Hezbollah operatives in areas in southern Lebanon where Israeli troops are operating.
Before the announcement by the Israeli army, the Lebanese state news agency NNA reported on Saturday’s strikes by Israel in the south of the country. The attacks came after the Israeli army called for the evacuation of 20 locations, including the city of Nabatiya.
Thousands of civilians will be sacrificed
Israel continues attacks in Lebanon despite ceasefire. Israeli strikes have killed more than 3,700 people since the start of the war, which began on March 2 when Hezbollah fired rockets into Israel, according to the country’s health ministry.
After Pakistan, acting as a mediator between the US and Iran, announced on Friday that it had reached the “final text” of a peace deal between the warring nations, an official in US President Donald Trump’s administration said the deal included Lebanon.
Lebanon in a critical situation
Iran has repeatedly stated that Lebanon must be part of a possible deal with the US.
According to President Joseph Awn, Lebanon is facing a “test of fate”. “Either its people will unite around a sovereign state that has a monopoly on weapons, enforces the law and protects citizens regardless of affiliation or status, or remain hostage to militia logic,” Awn wrote on the X Network on Saturday.
