Grain production could reach 358.6 million tons, says Conab

If confirmed, the result will be a record, with growth of 6.4 million compared to the last cycle

Brazilian grain production is forecast to reach 358.6 million tons in the 2025/26 harvest. If the result is confirmed, Brazil will break a new record, with an increase of 1.8% compared to the previous harvest. The percentage corresponds to an increase of 6.4 million tons, compared to the 2024/25 cycle.

The forecast is contained in the 9th Survey of the 2025/26 Grain Harvest, released this Thursday (June 11, 2026) by the (National Supply Company). According to the entity, this is due to the increase in the cultivated area, estimated at 83.5 million hectares, combined with favorable climatic conditions.

Therefore, the national average should be 4,295 kilos per hectare.

SOY AND CORN

Among the crops cultivated, soybeans stand out for showing an increase of 8.8 million tons in relation to the volume obtained in the previous harvest. With the harvest practically completed, production in the 2025/26 cycle is estimated at 180.3 million tons”, detailed the Company.

The result, he adds, reflects the growth in the area destined for oilseeds, combined with the good technological package and favorable weather conditions in the current harvest.

The corn grown in the 2nd harvest has a total production estimate of 140.5 million tons, adding up the 3 harvests.

The 1st harvest harvest covers 87.7% of the area, and should result in a total of 29.3 million tons to be harvested – an increase of 17.7% compared to the same period in the 2024/25 season.

In addition to the largest area dedicated to grain in the current cycle, productivity also increased by 7.6%, estimated at 7,110 kilos per hectare, establishing a new record in the Company’s historical series in the 1st grain harvest”, informed Conab.

The harvest of crop 2 is still in its early stages. The expectation is that it will reach a total of 107.9 million tons produced. The 3rd harvest, in the planting phase about to be concluded, is expected to produce a harvest of 3.3 million tons.

COTTON

According to the survey, cotton lint production (2nd harvest) should be around 4 million tons. If confirmed, the projection represents a drop of 2.5% compared to the 2024/25 harvest. According to Conab, the result is due to the reduction in the sown area.

In the case of sorghum, which records the fifth highest production among the grains analyzed by the Company, the harvest is estimated at 7.62 million tons, an increase of 1.5 million tons when compared to the volume obtained in the last harvest, representing an increase of 24.9%”, he added.

RICE AND BEANS

With the harvest practically finished, rice should record a production of 11.1 million tons, which represents a reduction of 13.2% compared to the volume obtained in the previous harvest.

The drop is a reflection of a smaller area allocated for cultivation given the market conditions of the cereal”, justified Conab.

There is also a projection of a drop in bean production. Conab estimates a total of 3 million tons to be harvested at the end of the 3 grain harvests. The volume represents a “slight drop of 0.5% compared to the result obtained last season”.

According to Conab, supply to the domestic market is guaranteed, even with the expectation of lower production for the 2 foods.

WHEAT

The area destined for production should show a drop, since the area destined for planting will be smaller than that of the previous harvest. Currently, this crop covers only 45.3% of the total planned area.

Expectations are that, at the end of the cycle, around 6.3 million tons of cereal will be produced.
