Israel attacks Beirut. It responds to Hezbollah fire and reports precise hits on its infrastructure. The attacks resulted in casualties and injuries.
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Sunday that the Israeli army launched attacks on the Beirut suburb of Dahiya. Lebanon’s NNA news agency said the strikes killed at least two people and wounded four others. TASR informs about it according to the report of the AFP agency, the news portal The Times of Israel (TOI) and the al-Jazeera station.
The Israeli military “just struck Hezbollah terrorist targets in Beirut’s Dahiya district, in response to Hezbollah fire on Israeli territory,” Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Kac said in a joint statement. “Israel will not tolerate fire directed at its territory,” they claim.
Destinations in Beirut
The army said it carried out “precision” attacks on Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Beirut.
The Lebanese agency NNA reported on the attack on an apartment in the southern suburbs of the capital. The attacks left two dead and four injured. According to an AFP reporter, smoke is rising from the heavily damaged apartment and the street is covered in debris as residents search for survivors.
The Iranian MP warns
TOI claims that Ebrahim Rezai, a member of the Iranian Parliament and spokesman for the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, sent a message to the United States after the Israeli attack. “If you seek agreement or understanding, you must tame the Zionist regime. If this rabid dog is not controlled, it will bite you in the leg before the ink is dry on the agreement,” he wrote on the X Network.
The Israeli army said on Sunday morning that three drones, believed to have been launched by the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, had struck northern Israel.
Evacuation of villages
Army spokesman Avichaj Adrai subsequently issued a warning on the X network to evacuate 29 villages in southern Lebanon, where Israel was about to attack in response to the aforementioned drone firing. These attacks continue despite a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon.
