The Parliamentary Group Junts per Catalunya has presented an amendment to urge the President of the Government to dissolve the Cortes Generales and call general elections. The Junts amendment is introduced in a PP motion. The debate on the PP motion and the Junts amendment will take place this Tuesday afternoon, at the end of the session, and the vote will be recorded on Thursday, in an initiative that has a good chance of succeeding, although the result is not legally binding. The PP considers that the announcement made by Junts “is important.” On the other hand, the general secretary of the PP, Miguel Tellado, has insisted on requesting the resignation of Mercedes González, director of the Armed Institute. “It is a disgrace for the Civil Guard,” said the popular leader at an informative breakfast organized by Nueva Economía Fórum, in which he introduced the president of Aragón, Jorge Azcón. Just this afternoon, González appears in the Senate at the request of the popular group, with an absolute majority in the upper house, in an appointment surrounded by high expectations.
