The president of em and former mayor of Santo André, informed pre-candidates of the PSDB/Cidadania federation that they should give up running for state government, in a virtual meeting on Monday night (15).
Serra said he should focus on the race for a federal deputy seat in the October election, according to reports from two people present at the meeting.
The decision, however, should be made official from this Wednesday (17th), only after Serra communicates his plans to the PSDB National Executive.
Without a candidate for the Palácio dos Bandeirantes, the PSDB tends to embark on a candidacy for the re-election of the governor (Republicans).

To the Panel, Serra denied that he had given up his candidacy for government. “It’s not true. We are firm,” he declared.
