A United States Navy pilot escaped with minor injuries when he ejected before a military fighter crashed into a mountain in Washington State, last Saturday (June 13, 2026). The accident caused a wildfire in the Okanogan-Wenatchee park region.
According to a Marine Corps officer in Miramar, California, the F/A-18 Hornet fighter jet suffered a non-fatal plane crash during routine training. The pilot ejected safely and was rescued by local authorities.
The pilot was hospitalized after the crash near Rimrock Lake, the Naches City Fire Department said. People who frequented the place at the time of the fall made videos on social media.

The Fire Department also said that, together with the US Forest Service, it responded to a fire caused by the debris.
The cause of the accident is being investigated.
