Brazil must evolve in the debate on defending the country as a society. The assessment was made by General Tomás Ribeiro Paiva, Commander of the Brazilian Army, during the WW Talkspromoted by CNN Brazil this Tuesday (16), at Galapagos Capital.
Paiva said he defended the optimization of the Brazilian military defense structure, with a debate on the subject with a genuinely concerned society, and recalled the work of civilian doctoral students who are specializing in military careers.
“Our Ministry of Defense, he is young, he is 26 years old, so he is evolving, but he is evolving in a positive way”, said the commander.
In relation to areas that could be improved, Paiva cites the importance of designing a .
“We can evolve in the defense debate with society, effectively concerned with civilians who know the topic. We have the Meira Mattos Institute, at the Command and General Staff School, postgraduate, master’s and doctorate courses. There are civilian doctorate students, from different careers, who are specializing in military sciences”, he assesses.
Defending the importance of knowledge and discussion of Brazil’s defense, Paiva states that “it is essential so that we can further improve and rationalize our planning, as well as” in the sector.
