André Ventura and Luís Montenegro in Parliament.
“We will continue to be in contact,” said Chega’s leader. Carneiro admits that he was not invited — neither to this nor to the meeting about the PSU.
The leader of Chega announced this Tuesday that the meeting he had with the prime minister on changes to labor law has ended no deal and indicated that the party and the Government will “continue working” in the coming hours.
After Montenegro said that he would “do everything” at the meeting so that the package comes to fruition in Parliament, André Ventura also indicated that the eventual feasibility of the Government’s proposed law will depend on “there being a principle of understanding”.
The leader of Chega spoke to journalists at the Assembly of the Republic, after meeting for around an hour and a half with the prime minister, at the official residence, in São Bento.
Carneiro was not invited
The general secretary of the PS, José Luís Carneiro, said that he did not receive any invitation from the prime minister for meetings on labor reform or the Single Social Benefit (PSU).
“There was no invitation to deal with labor issues. Not even to deal with the PSU”replied José Luís Carneiro to journalists.
