The president of Ukraine had asked on Tuesday (16) to meet with Lula during the G7 summit in Évian-les-Bains. Lula is still expected to speak this Wednesday with the president of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Zelensky hopes to convince more countries to help pressure Russian President Vladimir Putin to sign an agreement to end the war between the countries. Lula and Zelenski have had disagreements in the past due to Lula’s closeness to Putin, but they met at the last UN General Assembly.
