Lula is expected to meet with Zelenski this Wednesday (17) during the G7 summit

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva plans to meet with the Ukrainian Volodmir Zelenski this Wednesday, 17th, informed the Brazilian government. The president of Ukraine had asked on Tuesday (16) to meet with Lula during the G7 summit in Évian-les-Bains. Lula is still expected to speak this Wednesday with the president of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Zelensky hopes to convince more countries to help pressure Russian President Vladimir Putin to sign an agreement to end the war between the countries. He was invited to participate in the summit and was the protagonist of discussions this Tuesday morning, when there was a meeting about the War in Ukraine.

Lula and Zelenski have had disagreements in the past due to Lula’s closeness to Putin, but they met at the last UN General Assembly.
