Of the 26 players that coach Carlo Ancelotti called up for the Brazilian team at the World Cup, 20 have already been used, in just two matches, against Morocco and Haiti, in Group C.
The only striker who did not take the field was Neymar, who has not even been available to the Italian coach until now — he is still dealing with physical problems after a calf injury.
The number 10 for Santos and the national team didn’t even go to Philadelphia — he did training sessions at the Columbia Park CT, in Morristown, New Jersey.
In addition to him, only goalkeepers Ederson and Weverton, left-back Alex Sandro and defenders Léo Pereira and Bremer did not play in this World Cup.
In the 1-1 draw with Morocco, in New Jersey, Brazil debuted in the World Cup with Alisson; Ibañez, Gabriel Magalhães, Marquinhos and Douglas Santos; Casemiro, Bruno Guimarães and Lucas Paquetá; Raphinha, Igor Thiago and Vinicius Junior.
With the performance below expectations, at half-time Ancelotti added Danilo and Fabinho to the team. Matheus Cunha and Luiz Henrique reinforced the team in the 61st minute of the game and, in the final stretch, it was Danilo Santos’ turn to debut in the World Cup.
This Friday (19), in the 3-0 victory against Haiti, starters changed, but everyone who started had been successful in the first game.
However, before the break, an injury to Raphinha forced the Italian coach to make the first change: the chosen one was the rookie Rayan.
At 19 minutes, two more attackers made their World Cup debut: Gabriel Martinelli and Endrick — the latter’s perhaps the most anticipated debut among Brazilian fans.
At 36 minutes into the second half, midfielder Éderson — called up in the final stretch, in place of the injured Wesley — was the 20th player to play in the World Cup for Brazil.
After two games, Brazil has 4 points and leads Group C by goal difference. Morocco has the same 4 points, but has one goal difference (compared to three for the team). Scotland, with 3 points, is in third. And Haiti, with no points, is the first team eliminated from the World Cup.
