Ancelotti confirms Neymar’s return to the national team against Scotland in the World Cup

The 3-0 victory over Haiti brought encouraging news for the Brazilian team in addition to the result. After the match, coach Carlo Ancelotti indicated that Neymar is close to returning to the pitch and could be an option for the clash against Scotland, in the third round of Group C of the 2026 World Cup.

Asked about the absence of number 10 and the possibility of using him in the next match, the Italian coach expressed confidence in the striker’s recovery.

“Yes, Neymar will train individually tomorrow. On Monday he will be with the team and then he will be prepared for the game against Scotland”, said Ancelotti in a press conference after the game.

Neymar has not yet played in this World Cup due to physical problems. Since the team’s appearance in the United States, the striker has been following a specific recovery schedule, making part of the squad.

Neymar continues in the physical transition process in New Jersey while recovering from a grade 2 injury to his right calf, which prevented him from playing in his debut against Morocco and also left him out of this Friday’s game against Haiti. If he completes all the planned steps, the player will return to action on Monday and could be selected for the duel against the Scots.

With the victory over Haiti, Brazil reached four points, took the lead and was in a favorable position in the fight to qualify for the knockout stage. The greatest scorer in the history of the Brazilian team, Neymar is still looking for his debut in this edition of the World Cup.
