One person died and several others were injured in a train collision that occurred on Friday afternoon near Bedford, Britain, while several others were injured, the number of which remains unknown.
Bedfordshire Fire Service confirmed on social media that they are at the scene of the incident on the railway line just south of Bedford, urging people to avoid the area.

Those currently on trains along the line have been told by the rail operator to remain on the train and await further information.
British Transport Police have confirmed, via a statement on social media, that they are responding to reports of a train collision which occurred this evening.
In a post on X she wrote: “We are responding to reports of a collision between two trains in the Bedford area.
“We will share more information as soon as possible.”

The latest update from Network Rail, “strongly advises” passengers to postpone their journeys on the affected lines. A Network Rail spokesman said: “Emergency services are dealing with an incident between Luton and Bedford.
“There is currently no Thameslink service between Luton and Bedford. If you are planning to travel to this area, we strongly recommend that you postpone your trip. Services between Luton and London have suffered significant disruption. We recommend that passengers seek alternative means of travel.”
