The senator (PT-BA) met in Bahia with the former minister of the Civil House, (PT), and with the governor (PT) to assess the political scenario after being, an operation that investigates the fraud at Banco Master, on Thursday (June 18, 2026). The leader of the Government in the Senate should meet this week with the opresident (PT). There is no confirmed date yet.
Wagner consulted allies in the State, who are divided between defending his departure or remaining as leader. The assessment is that both decisions bring harm:
- if you stay – becomes a visible target;
- if you leave – can reinforce an interpretation of guilt.
The congressman is confident in the data in an interview with BandNews in the interview on Thursday (June 18). He any commercial link with Master or with the company Credcesta, of a public employee credit card created during PT’s management in the government of Bahia.
However, having negotiated with investor Augusto Lima, a former partner at Master, a R$2.5 million apartment mentioned in the investigations. POSITION OF THE BENCHES
The PT benches in the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate neutralized allied deputies due to Wagner’s departure from government leadership. Party representatives defend the presumption of innocence, the autonomy of the PF and declare themselves in favor of the installation of a CPMI (Mixed Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) on the Master.

Investigations into fraud at Banco Master are within the scope of Compliance Zero, initially authorized by the 10th Federal Court of Brasília in November 2025. The 1st phase provisionally arrested the main executives linked to the institution liquidated by the BC. Still in November, the TRF-1 authorized the use of electronic ankle bracelets and the return of those investigated home.
The case began to be processed in the STF from December 2025, under the command of Minister Dias Toffoli. He authorized the 2nd phase in January 2026, but the report on February 12th. André Mendonça.
