According to the PF, investigations are “subsidized by reports” of the Central Bank, which point out that those investigated “they would have manipulated accounting statements and regulatory records to hide the institution’s real financial situation, appear solvency before control bodies and enable supposedly irregular operations”.

announced on April 8 that it had closed an intention to purchase agreement with Digimais.

In , BTG stated that the objective was to establish a reference value for the sale of all Digimais shares, “in a competitive process to be launched in due course”.

In January 2025, the businessman, former partner of Banco Master, acquired Digimais, in exchange for an injection of R$800 million into the bank. The deal, however, was cancelled.

Despite having assumed full control of Digimais in 2020, Edir Macedo had been a minority shareholder in the bank since 2009.

According to the institution’s website, the bank has more than 145 thousand customers and more than 150 employees. In the last financial statement released, on December 31, 2025, Digimais said it had a net profit of R$31 million.

In May, Banco Digimais released a note denying reports that pointed out alleged accounting irregularities and a maneuver to hide losses. The institution classified the accusations as “completely untrue” and stated that the publications sought to damage his image. The statement continues to be displayed in a pop-up window on the bank’s home page.

In the note, Digimais declared that it was available to the authorities to provide clarifications and said that it operates with “security and integrity”.
