Objection, your honor – echoes through the halls of a courtroom in many crime films. However, this is exactly what the Objection platform of the same name wants to avoid. Funded by tech investor Peter Thiel, the aim is to use AI to judge the truth of journalistic articles – and take on the role of press council and court at the same time. Such a “conviction” has no direct consequences, but it does put public pressure on critical media.
