Lawyer Marco Aurélio de Carvalho, from the Prerrogativas group, will participate in the coordination of the (PT) for the state government of São Paulo. According to the federal deputy (PT-SP), who heads the PT team in the State, the lawyer will be responsible for articulating the agenda of the national campaign for (PT) with the state dispute.
With the move to Haddad’s team, Carvalho no longer competes for the leadership of the of the presidential campaign. As reported by the Poder360the lawyer had been invited by Lula but came up against the decision of the national president of the PT, who maintains the lawyer as responsible for the legal team.
Haddad’s candidacy is seen as strategic, as it will serve as an additional platform for Lula in the country’s largest electoral college.
Marco Aurélio de Carvalho is coordinator of the Prerrogativas group, which brings together lawyers and legal practitioners who have taken a critical stance towards Lava Jato. In Lula’s 3rd term, the group was closer to the PT administration and has direct dialogue with the president.
