The city of São Paulo broke the record for slow traffic in 2026 this Wednesday (24) with 1,690 kilometers of slow-moving traffic at 6 p.m.according to the Traffic Engineering Company (CET) website.
The Brazilian team takes the field against Scotland in the World Cup this Wednesday and the city also recorded rain and crowds on the subway and train lines.
The record had already been surpassed at 5:30 pm, when, according to CET, the total reached 1,532 kilometers of slow traffic in the city. At around 6:30 pm, there were still 1,275 kilometers of delay.
The total recorded at 6pm is also the highest traffic in the city since 2020. The record is from September 5, 2019, when São Paulo reached 1,902 km of congestion.
